Question OEM (?) Tail light Issue

I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX 2DR and ended up in a very minor accident that cracked my left tail light. On my civic is the "Euro" looking type of tail light with the entire bottom being semi-clear but not completely clear. It has the texture so you can't see the bulbs inside. I've seen these tail lights on most of the Honda Civics around here and other places. I rarely see the Civics with the orange part of the tail light. So I'm trying to replace my tail light and I want it to be a genuine Honda tail light but the dealership told me these tail lights are NOT OEM Honda parts. But on the tail light it says "HONDA" on it? I've ordered some from the company Eagle Eyes and the the back of the tail light looks bad, like poor quality, and it's held together with some kind of sealant or epoxy. So if I can't get them through Honda itself what would be a good brand to go with?

Talking Re: OEM (?) Tail light Issue

Thanks, I've been to that site before and really liked the catalog look. But wasn't sure for lack of color if it would be the same tail light. I've been checking ebay for them before posting up here, but actually wanted a brand new pair cause my car will be repainted and airbrushed hopefully soon.

The ones I got from Eagle Eyes sucked when I tried installing them. They weren't a perfect fit and I'm dealing with the company I bought them from on ebay. Grr.

Re: OEM (?) Tail light Issue

i guess it depends on the company. some of them have great fit. but yeah i would try and find an oem version. if you have junkyard around check there, and on ebay too. oem ones are just crazy expensive.

Re: OEM (?) Tail light Issue

I'm not too sure the company is a good one, I've done a lot of tear downs and rebuilds of front ends and rears and I've never had to "make" adjustments to tail lights or head lights to make them fit but they're claiming that usually that's the case. And I know some of the stuff we've put on customer vehicles have been aftermarket. But yes, i've ben looking in junkyards and all but nothing yet. And I definitely prefer oem for now.
