DIYs for 97 honda civic EX
DIYs for 97 honda civic EX
I am going to be doing a drive axle replacement, timing belt replacement, coolant flush, oil change, manual transmission fluid change, spark plug replacement, and valve clearance adjustment on my 97 Honda Civic EX 1.6 litre engine this weekend. I saw that there are DIYs for 7th gen civics but I was wondering if there are DIYs for my year car for everything that I am going to do, Particularly the timing belt change, drive axle replacement, and valve adjustment, or are those DIYs also applicable to my generation Civic? I would really like to know if the torques listed in my Chiltons Civic/Del Sol 1996 - 00 repair manual are reliable. I am interested in all the little tricks that may make my job a little easier.
On another note, does anyone know how to fix my keyless remote. The plastic that attaches to the ring on my keys broke so I have been carrying it in my back pocket. For a month now my remote requires that I hit the door lock/unlock button 6 times and exactly six times before the command executes. Is this just a case of having to reconfigure the remote or do I have to go to the stealership for a new one? I really don't want to pay out the a** for the abilty to have remote access to my car. Sorry for the long winded question and your help with these issues would be much appreciated.
