Exhaust - 96 DX
Exhaust - 96 DX
I have a 96 DX coupe and the exhaust is completely shot, cat, muffler, O2's, even the piping is bent, so I'm looking at options but wondering if just getting a 4-1 header and a high flow cat with piping is cheaper since Honda cats are so goddamn expensive. The problem is the cat placement and whether there would be any problems with wiring to the O2 sensors, so I need some help from knowledgable people...

Here's an option:

For that price you can probably get a decent header and cat but you'll have to re-wire the 2nd O2 sensor. You won't really save a lot of money but you get a little performance gain.

Re: Exhaust - 96 DX
its sorta funny i was at the the dealership today and the guy i was talking to said hondas cats r some of the higest performance ones available and also have some of the best emissions ratings. i would replace the cat with honda and for the rest get like skunk2 headers and exhaust or something along those lines. i cant justify spending more monay on factory parts for a 96 especially if u might want an aftermarket one. one of the cheapest ways to replace the exhaust is find a good muffler and find a shop to mandrel bend the pipe. good luck with ur search though
Re: Exhaust - 96 DX
Here is a OE replacement catback exhaust on ebay with gaskets for $169.
