Re: Engine Blew Up. Time To Rebuild.

Max HP out of a D is 250? Are you talking just N/A with a blower? 250 is easy with FI man, whether it's turbo or an SC.

No biggie Steve. I have no idea how to work with two cams, have only ever ****ed with SOHC Hondas, so I don't want to stray from my comfort zone.

You need to do some more research.

14:1 + 6psi boost (from a S/C) = kablooie

Blowers like 10:1 C/Rs which might get you close to 200hp on a d-series.

To get 350 HP on a d-series you need to use a turbo and set your C/R somewhere about 8:1 if you want to run on pump gas.

More power = more fun? That's not true for everyone - maybe for you.

Some guys make their builds because they want to see what they can do with a certain motor. It may be SOHC, DOHC, or a damn lawn mower tractor.

There's nothing wrong with building up a D16 and trying to find what you can do to it within your budget.
