97 civic problems

Hello guys, im new and im just posting this for my brother. He drove home today from work & was leaving later on and when he puts the key in the ignition everything has power going to it except the engine want even turn over @ All.. Could this problem be in the Starter? Connections/Ground? This car has ran perfect for the past 2 months since he has had it...

Anyone have any idea or does this sound like it needs a new starter the one on there now looks pretty old..

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME & ANY HELP U CAN PROVIDE!

I did not understand. Do you see the engine turn over? Do you hear the starter spin? Do you hear the starter click?

Re: 97 civic problems

Yup, it could be the starter, power connections, ground connections, or a dead battery, busted ignition switch, bad main relay, blown fuse, etc.

Re: 97 civic problems

it mostly dead battery or bad starter. but check the battery first cuz it the easiest and cheapest repair job.

Re: 97 civic problems

my friends accord has the same problem... if you can get it started by giving it a battery boost then it probably is the battery.. i agree with horent just get the battery checked out otherwise change the starter buddy!

Re: 97 civic problems

The problem is a connector that goes to the starter, it trends to get loose with the vibrations. I had the same problem, the engine wasn't cranking but the beam lights were OK. I reconnect this connector and everything went OK up to now. The starter is located below the distributor close to the gear box and the connector is a flat metal one covered by a rubber cap.
