How to replace fuel guage sending unit

Hi everyone,
I just picked up my first civic. Its a 97 hx 2 door, and the fuel guage sender is toast. can anyone tell me the procedure to replace the sender. I know its in the tank, but does the tank have to be lowered, or is there an access door under the rear seat?

Yes there is access to the fuel pump and sender under the rear seat.

You can find out for sure by downloading the service manual for your car form this link and reading the directions.
