Question Need help pimping my 99 ex

Stock 99EX----- i would like it to be a "Turboed out Dual Cam" but i need an engine swap for that..and money is tight now a days..so right now all i can do is work in it as it is with a "Single Cam"

I have never done anything to my car and would like to hear from you guys on what to hook up first (tires, interior, exterior or under the hood) and what will make me love this Single Cam slug enuff to make me save up to do the engine swap....i need this thing to Get Up and GO when i hit the pedal, i know i know in order for that i need to swap my engine, but there has to be some upgrade that you guys can recomend that will make me keep this car and turn it into a great project car..... i came here because i have heard and seen the fruits of your advice on the streets..... any advice is welcomed thanx guys.....

sounds like a good idea thanks!!!

Is it worth it to put a turbo on my single cam 99EX, if i have plans to swap the engine in a year or so? how much would a good supercharger go for? any header brands or types that i should be shopping for? Again sorry for the probably silly questions to you guys here in this forum but i am totally new to this whole hooking up civic thing..... Thanks

well the sohc is still a great engine. there are people here making 80+whp over stock at 8psi. supercharge is better cause you get power all the time. don't feel bad sticking with what you have but if you do want to swap later, don't mod this engine. boltons won't do much. just save for a swap or forced induction like turbo/sc.

agreed, just decide if u wanna build it or swap.

I dont know anything about building a 99, but from the little I do know here is what I would get..

jackson racing sc
hks catback (keep in mind this is either used or not really an HKS)
ebay header or if u can afford it, get this header (MUCH better quality!)
ebay intake (better quality - but if i recall, ppl had probs, RESEARCH this one for sure)
sportline springs(you would also need shocks/struts for front+rear, check out KYB AGX, Tokico, or Eibach even has some I believe)
you also need other misc parts along w/ the SC.. I think, I dont know much about it

check our sponsors for more quality parts

*KEEP IN MIND - im just throwing stuff out there I have NO experience with any of these things, so do your homework before you buy ANYTHING!*

what ill probably do is a good intake, exhaust and tires w/rims for now
then do the suspension... out of the above mentioned i would have to pay for labor only on instalation of my suspension, i can do the rest my self.

Intake $200-$250; Exhaust - $600; Wheels (with nice decent rims) $700-$800; Suspension$??? do these prices seem right? Im looking to get parts that can still be used even after i do my engine swap next year.

First off, I wouldn't keep your stock suspension if you're putting on 17's. I have 17's on my 98EX w/ Ground Control coil overs, much better than springs of any kind. I can't remember my tire size, b/c I recently changed them but I'll get back to you on it.

Secondly, I have a JR SuperCharger on my SOHC and really it's just good for the get up and go...8psi and haven't dyno'ed it so I can't tell you the HP. BUT for the money I like what I have. Mind you I bought most of my mods years ago...

You can check out my profile and my mods...I'll answer the best I can...and hope I can help.

hey, not anything against 7thgencivic.com but you might have better luck asking these questions on honda-tech.com...just throwing that out there...
oh yea, if i was you, go with jdm b-16a2 (like what comes in the si)$2200 shipped...put that in, lower your car with some nice rota's (16 in,) and have fun rippen through corners...thats what i do and then when you want to go turbo or supercharger you have a much better platform..
my 2 cents.
