Rep Power: 0 02 to 04 front end swap. Need help with headlights.
So I got into a small front end accident last week and I'm replacing everything and I thought. Why not change my 02 front end to a 04 I know what I need to do this. But I'm not really electrical savvy so this is where I need help. I know the 04-05 headlights have separate low and high beams. So what do i need to make them work on my 02? I've been looking around and haven't found any answers. Do i need a whole new wiring harness or can I make it work with the current one.

Either make an adapter harness (h4 [male] to 9006/9005 [male]) or buy one would be the easiest route
$50 for a pair here: http://innovativewiring.com/?page_id=1551
$25 for a pair on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/H4-to-9006-...JaiRbw&vxp=mtr
If you want your lows to stay on with your highs, you'd probably be better off buying a relay harness from theretrofitsource.com. Considering an H4 relay harness is only $35 plus shipping, and they use quality stuff, wouldn't be a bad idea

HID inputs use 9005/9006 plugs anyways, so there'd be no further conversion needed. Just find a place to mount the relay, route the wiring, and "tap" a connection from the battery (really, really easy to do) and you're solid. Oh, and tape over the unused H4 connector for safety. The relay harness only uses one input from the car. Their "install guide" diagram is rather straightforward, too.

I thought they used the same bulbs and sockets. I got nothing for that one.

Splice on the 04 socket, use either heat shrink crimp connectors or solder and heat shrink
