Cabin Dome Light
Ok, so today I just had my headliner replaced and they did a fantastic job. There is, however, one problem that came out of it...
The light, as we all know, has 3 positions: Off, Door, and On. After I picked up the Civic I noticed that the light was still on and hot AND it was in the "Door" selection. Come to find out something, somewhere has gone wrong. The "On" and "Door" postion leave the light illuminated, while "Off" still shuts off the light.
There is no light on in the dash indicating that a door, or the trunk is open.
The upholstery shop claims they didn't unplug or mess with the wires at all.
Can anyone give me advice as to how I should properly troubleshoot the issue? Local mechanics (including the Honda dealership) want to charge me an arm and a leg to diagnose.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

In most of the cars, the roof wiring runs up the drivers A Pillar.
The problem sounds like a likely explanation might be a screw through a wire or a pinched wire.
I have no clue what car you have..... So I picked a random car. Green/Red is the wire color to be chasing in the car I picked.
Unscrew the dome lights (and map light if equipped) and make sure the connectors were installed in the right spot and no bent contact pins or pinched wires.
Then unscrew the drivers sunvisor and see if that allows the light to turn off.
Be sure you are allowing plenty of time for the MICU to turn the dome lights off.
If it's not that, I'd guess you will probably be dropping the headliner down to access the wiring and check for pinches.
