Rep Power: 0 Looking for a new ride soon and looking for some help
Hey guys so I got my first little one on the way and im currently driving a 01 Civic Ex/Si 5spd coupe. Its time to go to 4 doors for the family. So looking for a bit of help. I have narrowed down my options. I am looking for a car that is pretty quick and yet is still economical (Good on gas, cheap insurance good resale price etc). The list of cars I am interested in are the following so far, but would consider some others. 03-08 Honda accord (Ex-l fully loaded V6 only), Acura TL 04-08 (Prefered 6spd), Nissan Maxima 04-08 (Prefered 6spd), Infiniti G35 (Prefered 6spd). Those are the cars im mainly considering at this time. Im looking to spend around $10,000 maybe a bit more or less depending on the deal. Im not looking for you to find me a car just help on which one to pick. But I am looking for something that is 4 door, preferably standard and quick and still decent on gas. Im leaning towards the Accord or Maxima....
Here are some specs on these current cars.
Accord 3.0 V6 Automatic only in sedan 240hp 0-60 about 6.2 sec quarter mile about 14.7 sec 18/28 mpg (Regular)
Maxima 3.5 V6 Auto or manual quarter mile (Manual) 14.1 seconds 18/28 mpg (Regular)
Infiniti G35 3.5 V6 Rear wheel drive Auto or manual quarter mile 14.5 seconds 16/24 mpg (Regular)
Acura TL 3.2 V6 Auto or manual quarter mile 14.5 seconds 18/28 mpg (Premium)

If you're looking to save on gas, definately not the TL or the G35 lol,
I think G35 takes premium as well
Maxima and the accord are decent cars...
But if i were you, i'd get the FA5 (8th gen 4 door civic si)
You get best of all worlds
Semi-fast little car, civic, gas saving, 4 door, roomy, pretty high resale value

I dont care much for the 8th gen civic styling. Plus I think it would be out of my budget aswell most likely and not as fast a car as I would like. G35 some are premium and some are regular. I guess it just depends on the model. I have been using the webiste www.fueleconomy.gov for my references. A TL may be a bit more on gas but who knows it also maybe cheaper on insurance to make up the difference. Mitsubishis I dont really care for either..

I'd get an Accord as a family car.Plus it's at the lower price range of the cars you listed.

I'm going to add my seventeen cents into this. We had a kid and decided to buy a new car and bought a four door... a year later we had a second little one... and the four door was nowhere near big enough and we decided to buy an SUV. I know your thinking gas and such but I would suggest getting something a little bit bigger like an SUV. Unless of course you know that you don't want to have any more kids.... I suggest the Accord, to answer your question.

EDIT:If you don't find an SUV that you like with fair gas mileage, try cross overs.Smaller than an SUV,but bigger than a sedan.

Definitely wont ever get a minivan. Maybe a midsize suv one day like a Crv but I know an accord will do for atleast 3-4 years. Even if we had a second kid I The accord would be ok. Im guessing it will most likely be an Accord or Maxima. Im leaning a bit more to the maxima, because it is more sporty look and it comes in a 6spd.

Go with the Accord. It has more of a reputation and great safety ratings. The ride is smooth and quiet. The cabin is fairly large also.Plus it's a Honda, usually last for quite awhile.I'm not sure how the new Maxima rides,I've only been in the newer Accord. As for SUV/crossover really like the Toyota Venza for some reason.Don't forget this is your car,it's your decision.

Ahh we thought the sedan was going to be good enough too. Alas I'll leave it there and again suggest the accord

suv's being built comparible to a truck use more gas and cost more to maintain. I'd say accord, i would take an accord over a civic anyday.
