Rep Power: 0 AC repair question
the discharge hose on my 2001 Civic went belly up and I just got it replaced and recharged by an independent mechanic. When I picked up the car, I forgot to ask if they use SP-10 oil (which is what the owner's manual specifies) or an equivalent oil for the AC compressor. I get the feeling most mechanics are bothered by these type of questions anyway, so I better ask here. I hope they used the right oil, but if they were to use another type of oil, would that hurt the compressor? how soon would it fail?
Right now the AC runs great, BTW. I think they did a good job, I just want to hear an independent opinion about the oil type for AC compressor.
Thanks
