Roof rack question 2004

I have just gotten a 2004 ex 4 dr and want to get a roof rack setup installed for 2 bikes. I work in a shop that has access to Yakima products but the prices are a bit much even with employee discount, so I was hoping to do a DIY option for roof mounts and use the Yak bike holders on that. In the past I have been able to mount with existing roof trim holes under the roof strips(namely on my 94 Escort wagon. Before I pull the strips up and disturb the glue, is this something that has pre-existing holes if I take the headliner off and the trim strips off? If so that would be nice to use.

Re: Roof rack question 2004

The rubber inserts may originally be glued down, but the one time I took them off, it was seemingly just “stretch fit” in there,
Imdo not recall seeing any threads, holes, ect except the fore and aft mounting tabs that held the rubber strips.
