Hi! I'm new to Civics and I'm looking at one today to replace my rusty 2006 mazda3.

2001 ex
107k miles
transmission swapped to manual almost 1 yr ago with a 97k mile transmission
clean title
new suspension(didn't ask what components yet), new brakes, new tires, comes with header back exhaust
says ecu was replaced with the tranny swap
$3,000 obo

I just want to know what are some things I should look at before I buy it.

thanks in advance!

Does it have to pass an emissions test, EVER?

Re: Should I buy this Civic??

tinted lights may be an issue when it has to safety,
like ezone said does it have to pass emissions?
how hacked up is the wiring and other things from being swapped?
Is the headgasket going?
I wouldn't pay 3k for it

i can look into and ask about the wiring and headgasket.

Re: Should I buy this Civic??

asking about the wiring and head gasket might not get you honest answers, better to go look for yourself

Re: Should I buy this Civic??

yea i got a friend coming with me that knows a lot more about cars and hondas than i do. he autocrosses a crx. and we're taking his compression tester with us and looking at everything we can, including under the car.

if i get it i'll let you know and maybe post on here some more pics and info with the whole experience.

wish me luck!

and thank you!
