Valve Cover bolt broke

Hey, so I was tryin to replace the valve cover seal and did the bolt rubbers as well. Found after a week that bolt area was leaking a bit of oil, so I tried to tighten the bolt and I guess that wasnt a good idea, by far.
So now I have one bolt broken and the remaininf part is inside. I put some honda bond around the broken peice and stuck it on the cover to patch up the leak/hole. Im still worried.

please advise, also broke my ignition coil bolt

please help.

Re: Valve Cover bolt broke

I might have a spare one laying around my dad's house if you're interested in buying a new one

The broken bolt, however, is a different story. If you're careful, you may be able to extract the piece of bolt stuck in the bearing cap. Otherwise, you may have to replace that bearing cap. I'm not 100% sure if you can just take one off another head and swap it in or not, but you can't even buy those individually (well, through Honda, at least). Those are only sold with the cylinder head

You have a spare bolt?

i have a magnetic pick tool that I was looking to use for the piece in their. BUT, I will however take the whole cover out and try to unscrew it because its snug and secure in their and it wont move or anything, its not gonna damage the Powertrain but it still hurts me.

i would not run the engine until you remove the valve cover and inspect, you could have small parts of that broken bolt in the valve train,

once you remove the cover, if there is a bit of the bolt sticking out you can grab it with vice grips and unscrew it,
