Input shaft bearing
Input shaft bearing
I replaced my input shaft bearing. I got the one piece with the tangs turned wrong and broke the tabs. So I had to eat the bearing on that end to get that piece off. Now I have the new bearing and piece coming. What's the best way to install it? I was thinking set the shaft on a piece of wood and tap the bearing on with a brass drift by the inner race. I'm already fed up with this thing. Please someone give me the best advice. I'm in this deep now lol. I just don't want to meet this up. I think heating the bearing isn't a good idea for many reasons. Mainly it looked as though the cage is partially plastic. I know the other bearing they say cool it to get it in the housing. So I didn't think an oven was a good idea.
