Re: looking for best UV Light for ac leak

honestly, a UV light will be a UV light. Visit a pet supply store, they have ones to detect pet urine. If you're willing to wait a few days (and you have an amazon prime membership), I'm sure you can find one for cheap.

Alternatively, go ghetto mode with it. Desk lamp, black light bulb, and an extension cable will work just fine.

Re: looking for best UV Light for ac leak

Lights are ok, best are true UV.
"Near UV" and 'ultra blue' (LEDs) lights usually comes with yellow glasses to 'enhance' the glow effect....but if you use a true UV light you'll probably not need the yellow shades.
Just about any can do the job though.
(Not sure if anyone has made true UV LEDs yet)
UV can hurt your eyes.

No matter which light you use, it's best to use it in the dark IMO. Total darkness is great, closed garage, dark blanket over the hood and your head, whatever.

Re: looking for best UV Light for ac leak

Probably something in the $0.99 - $10 range would be good enough?
Plus the glasses

Glasses

lights

both

Are the glasses realy important to able to see the leak in ac hoses? or it is just kind of protection for eyes

likely protection. Yellow lenses would block harmful blue uv light.

Re: looking for best UV Light for ac leak

They aren't for eye protection.
The yellow glasses enhance the glow effect, they really do make the UV stain much more obvious (brighter) especially when using 'almost UV' light.

i got this idea also from what to protect the eyes i was pretty sure they are for some good reason.
i already order the uv lamp from amazon without glasses i hope it will show the leaking if there is.
