How could I know for sure that the supposed low mileage jdm d17 non vtec motor i bought is in fact a jdm low mileage motor?

Buy from a reputable seller. One place I can definitely recommend is:

A lot of the SoCal shops/tuners use these guys. I know the owner, been to the shop, purchased, etc. All legit. It's a tight community here. Once you screw someone over, word spreads pretty quickly. Reputation is everything.

Is JDM important to you?

The Engine will be almost identical in power/torque to the North American d17 (Im guessing you live in North America).

Would it not be cheaper to find a low KM/mileage engine in your country?
