15 month update
Re: 15 month update
Yeah bro it really sucks! Thanks for your words man! Two years building this car and this young girl comes in a minivan and boom! The trunk lid opens and closes fine thank God and it looks like it's mainly cosmetic. I got an estimate of $1,890 from my shop. The trunk lid and spoiler where scratched also and need to be re finished even though the pics don't really show it, not to mention the upper quarter panel and bumper. The insurance adjuster is coming to look at it next Tuesday
I'll post an update on that on Tuesday.
Re: 15 month update
I can tell you really love your car. It's nice to see.
NY sucks I swear it's next to impossible not get dinged. Not to mention getting backed into like that. So frustrating. Thankfully you have collusion!
Still a beautiful car, even with her boo-boo.

Re: 15 month update
Thanks a lot Thorn! I have put a lot of TLC into this car. Sucks to have someone not paying attention hit it. She was probably on her cell phone
Re: 15 month update
Great news, the adjuster came a day earlier and was very impressed with how clean my car is. He gave it a rating condition code Excellent! and he approved 100% of the repair (minus my deductible of course). As soon as I get those checks my car is going to the shop. I will update thread as the process moves along. Thanks everyone for your kind words!
Re: 15 month update
Power locks on both doors stopped working a couple of days ago. I looked around this forum and found out these cars suffer from this. A part called the lock actuator goes bad just like that. There are many DIY with pics and links to get the parts. they cost about $30 each. Once I get done with the repair from the crash I will tackle this issue and will post here.
Re: 15 month update
Happened to mine as well. Don't rush and be gentle with the door lock assembly when trying to access the actuator because most of the moving parts are plastic and they're tiny. Pretty straight forward though and not too expensive luckily.
Re: 15 month update
Thanks for the advice bro! Will do
Re: 15 month update
I just ordered new tail lights from partsgeek.com for $140 shipping included. These are replacement parts not OEM but they are certified platinum plus for fitment. The damage was to the passenger side, however I felt ordering both sides was advisable to avoid any color difference. By the time they get delivered I will have the money from the insurance anyway. Making progress!
Re: 15 month update
I got the tail lights yesterday. They are two different brands but upon examination, they look and feel exactly the same so I don't care. I also got my insurance money today, I'm about to call the shop to make an appointment.
Re: 15 month update
Car dropped today at the shop! I asked the guys to cover the wholes for the emblems while they're at it, I want to have a clean back with a refinished truck lid, bumper and quarter panel! Its gonna look so nice, will post pics as soon as it's done, hopefully early next week!
Re: 15 month update
Thanks GusBuz! Yes the finish is original except for the trunk lid and rear bumper which just got refinished (a teenage girl backed onto me while I was parked
). Mud guards are OEM I ordered from the Honda website. Re: 15 month update
I am thinking about this wheel for my next mod. I found a very detailed DIY in this forum which I have subscribed to. This picture is courtesy of my Instagram friend carbon-eg who owns a super awesome 92 EG please follow him!
