Rep Power: 0 thermostat, overheating after new installed
So i changed my thermostat on my vehicle. Now my temp is unstable and goes straight to H after a couple minutes driving. My hot air doesn't work now either. This is the second thermostat in 2 days. Am i missing something here? Could it be that sensor connected to the thermo housing?

Re: thermostat, overheating after new installed
Do you know if the thermostat is actually working? Is the return line from the engine hot? This is the tube near the top of the rad. If the thermostat isn't flipping open, this tube will remain cold.
Seems like it may be the thermostat since you engine is getting hot right away. You may have an air lock somewhere in the system... Did you burb all the air out? Jack the front of the car up, run the heat on high, full blast and take the rad cap off.... you should not see any bubbles. If you do, let them all escape and make sure your coolant is full.

Re: thermostat, overheating after new installed
this means there is no coolant in your heater core....a big air pocket
i think the question here is, why did you replace the thermostat to begin with?....was there an original issue with overheating?....or is this just routine maintanance?
honda OEM thermostat?....honda OEM coolant?
dont let it overheat whatever you do

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
