05 Civic Transmission Swap

I am thinking about doing a transmission swap from automatic to manual on my 2005 Civic Si (canadian si) sedan. I understand that I would have to be replacing the whole tranny and linkage, but what exactly does that mean? This is my first car and my learning canvas.

What parts would I need to buy?
Aprox. how much would this cost?
Is this a bad idea?
Can it be done at home with a couple buddies over the weekend?

And I guess a step by step tutorial from some successful swappers would be great!

Thanks guys!

Re: 05 Civic Transmission Swap
Its going to be expensive.

Transmission
Manual Subframe
Transmission Mounts
Shifter
Shift Linkage
Master Cylinder
Manual Axles (drivers side)
Slave Cylinder
Pedal Assembly
Starter
Clutch
Flywheel
Pressure plate
Manual Center Console (shifter bezel, around shifter)
Manual ECU
Manual Engine Harness

Not to mention flashing your key to match the new ECU if you dont get the new key with the new ECU.

If you dont plan on doing it yourself..then just sell your cal and buy a car that is a manual already.

It can be done by yourself, but it is quite labor intensive.
