So i was driving from Nashville, TN to Hinesville, GA, was in an accident... long story short, now i have front bumper damage (my pride is damaged too) and my deductible is $500, the body shop i was refered to said it is about $500 in damage. So, I have to replace it myself and have NO MONEY!!!!! now i am sad and hate to say it but i dont wanna drive it now!!! i feel like it is ruined...end rant!!! pics to come tomorrow...

why get insurance involved over a bumper won't your prices go up. i would have bought a new bumper here www.certifit.com have a shop paint it and install it myself or found a stock one at a car yard already painted.

ebay is your friend. painted bumpers go for around $200 maybe lil more and just swap it in. may not be a perfect match but at least it will look better than crushed bumper. this one is $67 shipped for unpainted bumper, and most shops will spray it for $100 if you bring it in separate.

i got an aftermarket oem style rear bumper. matched up 98% like the honda part. there is a tiny gap on the sides where it snaps in, possibly from me messing with it and breaking a clip, but overall it looks like a regular bumper. those things will be toast anyway in a 5+mph accident. they are just bumper covers for looks, not functionality.

You could also try buying a bumper and rattle canning it with your cars color code paint. I did that on my previous car and it looked semi decent. The bumper was a little different than the oem one though. I noticed that the oem bumper has a lip underneath where the headlights were it would push into some metal tabs beneath the headlight. The replica didn't have these, only the top and bottom snaps and side tab things.

the insurance lady came yesterday and appraised all the damage at 1261.029, but my deductable is 500 so i only get 761.29. so i am trying to find everything fairly cheap so i can get it painted and installed as well.

Ideally they would blend it to match while on the car. Make sure to specifically ask about paint matching/blending.

i only got 761 from insurance and have some more plans. plus i was looking through ebay on my work computer and apparently bought an intake!!!!! I dont remember hitting the "BUY NOW" button but when i got home i got an email saying i won the auction!!!! now i have to explain that to my wife... oh well i guess the fog lights will have to wait.

just got back from body shop, it is going to cost me 231 to paint the bumper. and i am going to install it all myself. Since i wasnt going to pay this dude $44 an hour to install a $40 grill. so hopefully get everything in this week. also where do i go for help posting pictures? cant seem to get it to work.
