Insurance wouldn't as much as you'd think it would be. It was only like $85 a month for me to be insured for my mom's 2010 Mercedes c300 before I got my car, and only $45 a month a for my 2003 lx. Both of those numbers are with full coverage.

Re: I Want It

It costs you significantly less to insure your car for six months than it costs me to insure mine for one, I'm jelly.

Re: I Want It

^^ Yep. With your own policy you can multiply that $45 by 3 for full coverage. Add 20-25% for every wreck... you see where this is going.

Re: I Want It

I'm aware that if I wasn't on my mom's policy, I'd be getting raped. I think I got quoted for around $105 a month with full coverage on my civic when I played around on progressive.

Re: I Want It

Screw that, ep3s are ugly as hell. Would never trade my EX for one of those. Honda dropped the ball hard on the looks of that car.

Re: I Want It

The worst advice I've ever heard is to put the car under your own policy. Let's just give the insurance cash mongers even more of our hard earned money. Like they aren't making enough. You may learn a lesson, which I doubt you will. But you will also continue to feed their coffers to no end. Whatever loophole that can be used to keep money out of their pockets should be. Honestly, they make enough and I can't stand hearing advice like this. Because of insurance robbery it's almost impossible for anyone under 21 years of age to drive in this Province. Mainly because they are paying over 300 dollars A MONTH on insurance. I'm 26 and I have 2 cars, a house, and life insurance and I'm still getting robbed on every aspect of the insurance --- I'm Furious. I'm embarassed to tell you how much it costs me a month. With a PERFECT driving record, no accidents, tickets, not even 1 parking ticket.

That being said, the car is hideous.. and so is the K20A3 that's in it.. Do something cool like an RSX or a 2000 prelude.

I think it's pretty sexy. I'd just tint it, lower it, swap the headlights, put in HIDs, maybe new rims. I'd love an RSX, but to find one with low miles like the EP3 isn't easy especially around that price.

But, I don't see me getting a different or second car until I get a job. I can't even pay my parents for this one, doubt they'd allow me to get something more expensive.

Re: I Want It

low miles isnt great, in fact its worse than if the car had 100k on it. its modded, which means on the days he took it out the car took all sorts of beatings, prolly horrible maintenance because they think since the car isnt driven a lot, they dont have to do anything, and the way he describes it sounds like he knows nothing about the car or in general and just wants to get money. but most likely he got tired of how slow it is and wanted something faster. i havent checked the kbb but the price seems high, low miles or not. i've seen rsx for cheaper than that. and finally, make sure you test drive it well and see if its even something you would like driving. i wouldnt get your hopes up because ive been in ep3s with way more mods than this one and wasnt impressed. yeah it was a bit faster than a regular civic if you floor the gas, but otherwise you wont notice much. the interior is completely different layout and seating. if you are used to a regular civic, you might not even feel like you can drive this car.

LOL you just cancelled yourself out. A good loophole to not pay out more money to insurance is to not get a more sportier car like an RSX or prelude which are two more expensive vehicles to insure.

Re: I Want It

insurance companies already scam you, so payback is only fair i guess. someone should put together a list of all the ways to get the lowest insurance. there are so many loopholes that if you know what to say, and how to look, you could make off like a bandit. and never keep the same insurance for more than a year. you almost always find a better deal calling around. and if you dont care about your car (or its old, not worth the worry) then its not a big deal if they suck. at least youre paying much less.

I realize that ... but I mean not buying the car you want isnt really a loophole, but going under your moms insurance is... I'm not going to buy something I hate because its a few dollars a month cheaper on insurance.
