This a good deal?

Was thinking about doing a head gasket replacement myself, but since im running an automatic, i just went by a local dynoshop/garage today to see what they'd charge for a engine replacement + tranny swap if i supplied the engine and tranny. The guy said hes done tranny swaps in the past and could get the misc parts for the swap if i supplied the engine and tranny, and do it for right around $1000. I can get my hands on another d17a1 for real cheap( there's like 3 wrecked em2's with perfect engines at a nearby salvage yard ).

So just wondering if that's a good deal on the install.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
