Re: My 04 EX

Pretty much plan on leaving the engine stock. Definitely lower a bit since picking up used springs/coil overs is pretty cheap. But maybe a front lip but that's pretty much it.

When the summer comes around I will take them off. But surprisingly enough they seem to be doing a rather good job in the winter.

I'll probably do the same, kicking them when that brown snow is frozen can be a pain though

I would rather do that than have to wash the car after every time it snows.

I was driving it and some dude backed out of his driveway right in front of me. I swurved but he got me there. His insurance covered the full repair.

So that damage on the front bumper was not there when you purchased the car?

Re: My 04 EX

Under the front bumper was there when I purchased the car. I'm not too worried about it. The roads around here are very crappy so there will be more scratches.

Re: My 04 EX

So true. My last DD car was black and you never have a clean black car. I haven't been able to wash the car in 5 weeks ( repainted from accident) and when you are close it looks horrible but when you stand back you can't really tell.

Re: My 04 EX

If you do decide to keep the mud flaps. Peel the front ones away from the car every once in a while and make sure they aren't digging into the paint. If they are use touch up paint on the spot otherwise youll get rust underneath the front ones. I touch mine up a couple times a year because its dug its way right through the paint. If I remove them now its going to look like crap because touch up paint isnt always perfect. I generally fill the gouge in before rust forms to prevent any major issues down the road.

Re: My 04 EX

I never thought of that. I will definitely keep that in mind. I'll have to check when it gets warm out. Currently we are having a wicked winter storm so I'll make a note of it. Thanks for the input.

My dad got our civic back in December of 2009, so from December 09'-July'10 i didn't clean the civic at all because it didn't look dirty. When it started to show signs of dirt the rain would take care of it and my car looked clean again lol

But after a while i decided i'd clean it bigtime inside and out. It shined the rest of the summer

Re: My 04 EX

Thats my plan of action. I was going to give it a good detail last weekend but they were calling for this blizzard. So when it warms up a bit I'll make sure she is spotless.

Re: My 04 EX

Detailing every 10 days ? Must be nice!!!! I don't get a chance to wash my car every 10 days let alone detail. In fact i think its been a few months since ive washed my car. The rims are almost totally black haha... but alas, with a couple kids its hard to find the time. Especially since its not the "Choice" Car in the household (which means I drive it)

Well this is the car my dad bought for me and my sisters... so i don't really care about it being clean... and they never even take it to a car wash. When i get my own civic, car wash once a week, detailing ever 2 weeks

Jesus, thats much? Was it more than just the bumper that needed replacing?
