exhaust broke :(

how long can i run with just a down pipe before i mess stuff up? My exhaust cracked and i had to take it off and now im just waiting to get some money

it'll probably run like ****.. I know when I accidentally misaligned my downpipe by just a half inch, my car barely wanted to move due to the lack of backpressure. However, that was at the header/downpipe connection.

how long are you talking here ?? i wouldn't drive the car for sheer embarrassment . were did it crack because they sell exhaust repair kits to patch it up at pep boys or basically any parts store or have a shop or somebody with a welder patch it real quick.

not a good idea to run without exhaust pipe. You suck back cold air on deceleration that can cause exhaust valve damage. you need that extra distance of exhaust tube and back pressure that saves from this issue.
