I took my car to the dealership today (04' civic lx sedan). they said my air flow sensor is messed up and they want to charge me 340 dollars to fix it, 98 dollars is for labor... I think that's a little ridiculous. What do you guys think. How many air sensors are there? I found a MAP Sensor for like 62 bucks and i can't imagine it being too terribly hard to replace. Thanks

um yeah the only air sensor worth mentioning is the MAP sensor which is for air pressure. pretty cheap, even the oem part is less than $100 and it takes a couple mins to change.its next to the throttle body and says map sensor on it. i think its denso brand. there is also an air temp sensor in the air intake housing and thats maybe only $10 and can be changed in couple secs.

don't the dx and lx's have the cat right next to the block, and don't they have the laf sensor (linear air flow sensor) looks like an 02 sensor but has 5 wires. I know this because i had a vx civic that had one, the part is hella expensive cause i think there is very few aftermarket replacements

I think that it is easy to change. Do it yourself and save outrageous dealer labor cost. Honda part is probably still a good choice though.

honda still calls this an oxygen sensor i believe on 01+ civic
