I am currently installing the 220amp Fitzall alternator in my 04 1.7L Civic Coupe Lx. This alternator claims to fit many cars including all civics.

I know a lot of people have been asking about this brand and if it will work. Ill tell you now that I have been working on in stalling this alt for about 6 hours so far. Ill list the steps I have done and where I am stuck. I'm sure someone here has way more experience than my zero experience.

1. Used the following to remove previous 70amp alt.

2. While installing mine I noticed it was getting caught on one of the A/C lines. So i cut excess metal off the alt so it would slide into place.

3. I then very loosely put in the bolts. There is a long butterfly bolt that is used to tighten the belt by sliding the alt down this slightly curved track.

4. Then I went to check on the belt to see if it fit and the pulley on the alt is off by about in inch horizontally to the left of the other two pulleys it must attach to.

are there ways to extend the pulley out from the alternator so the belts line up? Or are there different mounting brackets I need to buy that work for this match-up? I know its not in wrong because the two large bolts that hold it in are two different sizes and only work in the holes I used. Thanks in advance guys, feel free to post brainstorming here or even random ideas. So far this Fitzall does no fit AT ALL but i'm going to make it fit eventually, I am very determined.
