DUDE.... seriously wtf?
DUDE.... seriously wtf?
so just about 3-4 months ago my clutch was ****ing up it would not grab and it was starting to feel different. I went out and bought an exedy stage 1 and had it replaced about 1 month ago and then yesterday it ****s up again after work and i had to get my car towed home only to find out that its not the clutch but the ****ing whatchamacallits( metal things that connect the tranny to the stick not sure what its called i'll post a pic later) break. should i be expecting more problems in the future? thanks guys
Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
shifter cables(?) yeah i think that sounds right but yeah its not that it pops out its that it snapped. i have an uncle thats a mechanic he's already on the job but yeah i had to buy the parts from the local dealership for $129. my question is should i be expecting more problems in the future?
Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
nah i think you should be ok. i think thats more of just a wear and tear problem. did you buy your car used? maybe the last person would ram the gears into place, who knows how it got weak.
that problem is pretty isolated though, when its replaced you shouldnt have any problems with anything else connecting to it.

Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
car has had 2 owners my dad and me. possibly wear and tear my older sister learned how to drive manual in this car i learned my brother learned and i tought my girlfriend how to drive in this car. thanks guys anyway im hoping to upgrade from the civic to a 350z pretty soon anyway. wish me luck
Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
well g35 was my first choice but i cant find a used one at an affordable price. ive driven both but the 350 is just more my style. but im probably going to end up with another honda
Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
how are you "young" yet can afford a 350z or a g35? they're expensive. cuz i want in lol. however i do really like the around 2005 g35s coupes. the ones that were really angular before the facelift and g37. plus it has one of the best (imo) stock exhausts ever.
Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
i can afford those cars cause im 19 and i live at home go to school and work like 30 per week hours im not saying im spoiled or anything its just i only have to pay for gas and my phone bill and i help my mom out but she covers the major stuff. and im looking for used not new. s2k's are dope but not for me.

Go for it. I bought an '02 EX in '04 and totaled it in '06. So I bought the Z new in '06 and haven't had a problem since. Tires are kind of expensive however...

Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
what sounds more masculine? "I drive a Nissan 350Z" or "I drive an infinitti g35" infinitti's make me think of owners that wear slack and penny loafers or mandles with a tiny starbuck coffee in their hand with a little dog that smaller then a cat
Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
haha yeah the z does sound better.
silver surfer-your car is clean man.
as for me ive narrowed down my options im not gonna get much for my em2 so im going to fix it and keep it as a project or i found an acura for a decent price rsx type s already modded with a cai and a catback

You might want to check on insurance for the different cars before you decide. If you buy a car and then find there is a performance surcharge on the insurance it can get very expensive. It may not be problem but it can't hurt to find out.

Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
...and your age...and if you are a male or female...and if you are married or single...and where you live...and if it is garage kept...and how many miles it will be driven to work...and the amount of coverage...and amount of deductible...and if it is part of a multiple vehicle and/or home owners policy...and your credit rating...etc.
Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
insurance rates will stay the same for the rsx but will be raised for the 350 so im still conteplating i really dont want to give up on my civic but a new used car would be great because i cant have it keep breaking down on me.

No doubt, just felt you were oversimplifying a very complex formula. Case in point, I just bought insurance today for the car listed in my sig below. My rate on this car is approximately $600 a year, yet for my single 18 year old daughter who still lives at my home, it is over $1800 for the same coverage (deductibles, amount of liability...etc). It is for the same car and we both have spotless driving records. I however am a married man, soon to be 46, own a home and have my homeowners policy & auto policies (3 vehicles) with the same carrier. All 3 have the same deductibles and are driven about the same amount of miles. None are garaged. My credit score is over 700 (she doesn't have one yet).

Re: DUDE.... seriously wtf?
That rsx type s would definitely be a good choice if you stay with honda/acura. Its got the k20a2 with true ivtec and its 6 speed. The first mods that I would do to it if I where you is get lsd and kpro then start with the rest.
