I didn't get my 2005 Civic Hybrid brand new.. but I want to know if there's lights on the shifts..

my old accord had it.. and it was burned out or something.. then someone i knew replaced it..

so does my civic model have it..?
or does any of you guys have it..?
and do you have any info on changing them..?


I hate looking at the dashboard to check if I'm in neutral or drive..

my VP does not lite up and im also uncertain if it ever did but you could easily hook up some led's if you wanted.

you can..? i only know how to remove the center part to expose the gear shift..

i never touched the gear shift.. or its inner workings..

well the letters on the shifter light up with the dash lights, but thats hardly a good feature since you cant see where the gear select **** is anyway. thats why they put a good gear shift light strip in the gauges. i actually disconnected my lower shift lights cause they were distracting at night. i could never tell what gear it was in anyway at night without looking at the gauges.

my dash board light is perfect.. its pure LED OEM.. even the odometer is LED.. iono if anyone else have it.. .. it also has a "Charge and ASST" indicator to tell me what's my car doing with its engine.. and even my MPG.. and its mostly all blue.. the shift lights on the dashboard is great too...



but there's no light at all on the gear shift where i actually look.. -_- which is why i want it =D

its like ... something is missing.. =D

and so.. according to GearBox.. our car DOES have lights in the gear shift box

uh.. last night.. i got pulled over by the cop for one of my lights.. -_-

well anyways i changed the lights right away.. and SOME HOW.. my shift gear light turned on...

then.. when i turn off the engine... it turned off... the shift gear light never turn back on again..

sounds like you have a hybrid civic, but maybe the gear light on the actual shifter assembly is burnt out or loose. its just a regular bulb, not led. so prolly open up the console and check the wire plug and bulb.
