Just got my 2001 civic EX AT a couple days ago. What should I do first to it?

First - I would take the pinstripe off.
2nd - Take the mudflaps off
3rd - Get aftermarket headlights

These are just an option and what I would do but it's your car you should make it your own.

Sorry but what do you mean by the pinstripe?

And the only reason why i'm asking is because i'm not really sure what mods are out there for a civic. I know there are a ton and I just don't know where to start to make it sleek and clean. Thanks

The pinstripes are the strips of vinyl tape running down the side of your car directly under your windows. Your right there are a TON of mods out there. Pretty much anything you want to replace or change you can. Best place to find parts would be Ebay but make sure you buy from reputable dealers.

Sure here are my rims I think they compliment the car quite nicely. They are Konig Unknown 17".

That's what I would recommend for looks but not for ride quality. I would stick with a smaller rim like a 16" and have a bigger tire. Riding on rubber bands isn't all that it is cracked up to be.

When I bought them a couple of years ago I got them from http://www.wheelsnext.com for 1000.00 including tires. I don't know if they have been discontinued or not though.

do whatever you would like changed on the car. alot of easy first mods are things like taking the orange piece out of the headlights, new stereo (mp3), speakers, window tints, intake, fog lights, the usual stuff. and do a detail for the paint with wax and all. if you want oem accessories like interior trim kits, cargo net, floor mats, lip kits, check out handaaccessories.com

i say go for a nice drop for your suspension nothing to crazy but it will dramatically change the appearance of your car for the better.

i'd do what i call a stage 0 "upgrade" first. basically go through and flush all the fluids, make sure all maintenance is up to spec, etc. it kills me when i see cars with a new stereo or something, yet the owner says they haven't done their maintenance because they can't afford it.

i agree. first thing you should do is get it running like a champ. do you know what has been done or when it was done last? how many km/miles are on the car?

but yes, first mod should be going to your sister or gfs room and getting her blowdryer. heat that pinstripe up slowly and peel it off gently with your nail. those things are so ugly.

a pinstripe is just an ugly sticker that is along the side of the car. you can see it in the first picture on this page. its the line that runs from beside the headlight along the whole side of the car towards the tail light.
