how much should it cost

I have an 03 civic lx standard transmission. my input shaft bearing broke and my clutch needs to be changed badly. I bought the clutch package and the bearings. I need to know how much would it cost for the labor cause i called two places and they said 1000 to 2000 dollars just for labor.

i dont wanna get ripped off i understand 1000 including the parts but not just for labor

thanks

No... that's about right. I wanna say it's like a 4.5 hour job to remove the trans and then another like 3 to change the input shaft bearing. I can look on alldata later and tell you for certain..but that's pretty close.

It really isn't that bad, you just have to have the right tools. As long as you aren't replacing any of the gears it isn't too terrible. You just have to have a lift (or pull the whole motor), air tools are great, a full host of hand tools and a decent grasp of mechanical know how are all pretty much required.
