Exclamation Petrol Usage Question....

Hey Guys,

Right ok this is really starting to irratate me now, can you all please inform me of what mpg you get roughly.

I have the A2 motor, done 80K fresh as a daisy all motorway miles... and my mpg is shocking.

I will fill up with £35 about 38 litres and get about 180miles to it... i drive normal so im not booting it everywere.

btw the light comes on after 180 miles and i fill up with anywere between 30-40 litres.

What size tanks do our 7th gen's have? it is 50 right???

And one more thing, i think my gauge is shot... or is something badly wrong with my motor, it dont smoke or nothing and ive tried all sorts from fully syntetic oil to running super unleaded. HELP!

Re: Petrol Usage Question....

that seems about right. use the 87 octane rated stuff. the tank is 50 liters total. ive gotten anything from as low as 4-8mpl in the city, and as high as 10mpl on the highway. it depends on the environment alot, if you are in mountain vs sea level, if you have alot of hills or if the road is flat. some things you may want to check on the car is make sure wheels are aligned properly and have enough tire pressure. maybe do a little tuneup spark plugs, air filter, that type of stuff.
