replace block heater cord

I left my block heater cord hanging out too far and it's f'd up after dragging along the road all day Is it easy/cheaper to replace the whole cord or should I just pull the head off and wire a new one on? Anyone done either before?

Re: replace block heater cord

They do sell replacement cords but Im having trouble finding the right one so Im going to try and put a new plug on. Im thinking it should be pretty strait foreword- cut the plug head off, and match wires to connect new,but I've never done electrical before so any advice would help.
