any help removing tail lights?

hey guys. i've got an 05 sedan that im lookin to take the tail lights off of so that i can smoke em and get a little more of an aftermarket look on. I thought it'd be easy but after undoing all the bolts that i can see im still having some trouble getting it off. So i'd rather not touch it until i know for sure what im doing. anyone know exactly how to remove the tail lights on an 05 sedan? pics would help. thanks.

Re: any help removing tail lights?

then start here and go to a dealer site near you and go to the parts page and find the same diagram yourself. The link I posted works for me, but maybe that is because I typed the info in and it is stored in cookies or some ****.

Re: any help removing tail lights?

I'm just saying its a pretty common since thing. Take the screws and bolts out of the bumper and pull.

If its stuck somewhere...well look where is stuck at and why.

Re: any help removing tail lights?

when i first got my car, i didnt know how anything came apart either. its called learning. hes just taking a bumper off, not rebuilding a motor.

If you are going to bring someone down, the least you could do is be grammatically correct about it. It's called common SENSE

Re: any help removing tail lights?

lol. and double yes on the type-r. rear bumper almost always held on by clips and screws. sometimes you gonna find where they are hidden behind plastic cap covers. bumper has to come off when changing headlights unfortunately. unless you have a saturn, then all you do is pull out two metal rods and the headlight comes out in less than a minute lol.

I put in my TYC tails this weekend; not too bad, but I see what you mean about those brackets. "What a pain" is right! I was tempted not reinstall the brackets, but I thought since the bumper latched onto them, I might want to leave them on there.
