Rep Power: 203 Safe amount of boost for a d17 to last ???
Hi all, been making some money latly and I dont wanna get rid of my civic but at the same time I want a little more speed while keeping it stone cold reliable.
Engine has 43k miles on atm and I wanna be one of the guys to be able to say shes still running great at 150k yrs from now.
Question is if I turbo what kind of boost can I run without messing with the integrity of the engine? 5, 6 psi ? and at that point what kind of hp gain can I expect ?
Thanks guys im not a tottal noob but im no expert eaither. Oh ya and ill never be able to afford a k swap :P

i think 8 psi with a proper install
but it all depends on install and parts and tune.
itll work good as long as you do the proper maintence as well.

I've been debating the swap/boost question for a long time. I've decided to do EVERYTHING else first (ex.body kit, lowering, ice, etc). I'll see how broke I am after, and if I'm still not happy with my power gains. Anyways imo once you boost/swap, reliability usually becomes a thing of the past. 6-12psi depending on what "setup" you build and how you've tuned it. CHEAP, FAST, RELIABLE. Pick two...
