Alrighty, so I've got some plans for my interior, and I'm looking for a few tips/tricks...

My Plans
-Custom Headliner/Mirrors/Door Panels/center console armrest
-Do SOMETHING with the pillars [probably wrap them]
-Paint or do something with the dome/map light trim, as well as the "oh ****" handle, and the pieces on the mirror arm.
-Under dash LED's [kinda rice but the rents bought them for me and I'd feel bad if I didn't use them, at least for a little while].

Some questions I have are...

For anyone who has already done it, how much fabric did you need for the entire headliner? I looked in the thread and I only saw the starting amounts, not the final product amount. I just want to conserve as much as possible and concidering I'm using three different panels for just [and each door too]that I need to know the relative amount so I can add a few inches all the way around and have some room for error [cuz I HATE darting].

If I decide not to paint or dye the light trim pieces, how do you think they might look wrapped in the same fabric as the headliner/pillars? I can shave the fabric if the fit is too tight.

About the LED's, they are a rather...BRIGHT color, but I do really appreciate the thought, and I'd like to be able to say, "hey thanks guys!", even if I do end up taking them out eventually. For these I was thinking I would put them under my dash on both the drivers and passenger side, and only have them come on when the doors are open.

For this it seems like I would need to hook them up to the dome light. I read in a post that in order to have them go on when the door is open and fade with the dome, the wires have to be attached really close to the actual light, is this true? And what do I do if the wires that came attached to the LED's are too short to do this? Replace them? Extend them?

I'm probably going to start this either tomorrow, or Sunday of next week, depends on if I can make it to the fabric store to pick up my delivery before 5 tomorrow, but yeah, any help, or suggestions would be great.

ALSO, anyone know where I can get a real carbon fiber CIVIC badge? You know exactly like the one on the back of the 05' vic only in carbon fiber, I've looked everywhere but have come up empty handed. I'm close to having one custom made by the dude who did my grips, but he wants 89 for it, and I have a feeling I could get it cheaper.

before you start doing all of this, take a look at cars out there that has had this stuff done first.

painting the inside i have never seen come out good. so gl to you.

i wouldn't suggest wrapping or doing nada to your map light stuff. vinyl is ghetto don't go there.

the jdm honda badge is red and doing it carbon isn't real.

rewrapping the other stuff is fine.

Really think about your headliner before going through with it. I did my door panels in red and it looks amazing, I've gotten nothing but compliments on it. And I had planned on doing my headliner but every day I got in the car and looked up imagining seeing red, it became a more terrible idea every day. And now I'm glad I didn't do it. But if you can get it to incorporate with your theme somehow it'd be great.

I have looked at cars that had it done and I agree, I've never seen something painted actually look good. But thats why I mentioned wrapping it.

I'm definatly gonna have to do something about the light trimmings and crap, if I don't, it will be the only thing left in my car that is gray, and it will look odd/tacky. I definatly wasn't gonna go with vinyl, microfiber suede actually.

Maybe I should have been a little more clear on the whole badge thing. I don't want it so I can put it on the outside of my car [I still have my stock one anyways]. I was going to do something with it on the inside. I know carbon fiber isn't "real" as in "JDM", but what I'm looking for is a badge thats made from real carbon fiber.

Well, I've been thinking about it alot actually, I have 2 different ideas, and ordered enough fabric for both. Regardless of which I choose my door panels, headliner, and armrest will be made with the same pattern.

1. Use two different contrasting colors, black being the dominant, with two black panels on either side, and the other color in a streamlined Y shape [without the empty space between the forks], then have the pillars wrapped in the same black, so it sort of flows together. For the panels I would do the same black on the sides other color in the middle, but instead of the Y shape, I would do more of a V that flowed with the lines of the panel.

2. Using only black, still using the same patterns as the first one, but using a contrasting color thread for the stitching of the seams.

Whatever I do, I don't just want some random block of color above my head, no offense to the people on here who have done it, but it just doesn't look right in my eyes. Most of my interior is black already, except for the headliner, all the trimmings up there, and the pillars so I figure if I do the pillars the same black as my headliner it will all flow up and around nicely, even if my headliner is only black on the sides, I still think it will flow. Sadly I have never seen this done before so I'm basically taking a shot in the dark.

for the headliner i just took it out and sprayed it with some fabric paint (black), it turned out killer, changed the whole interior in my opinion.

the a,b,c pillars broke em down and put them a metallic silver, along with most of the doors, and dash peices

can't reall see the headline in the pic but u can see how it contrasts together...

ur style is definately different from mine kokain. i see how u did the color matching. still not my taste.

use paint or photoshop it and see what it looks like and give us an image to see too lastxunxleft. I'm don't get ur idea too much.
