What should I do?
What should I do?
I have a 2002 honda civic EX w/ 130,000 miles. I have replaced the auto transmission, axles, front bushings, rims (one was bent), brakes, cat converter, audio system b/c blown speakers. This is a problem car!
I noticed even with my old transmission, a transmission jerk when slowing down, then speeding back up (about 10mph, 1st gear). Its like the auto transmission slams into gear. I did some research through this site and discovered that I should adjust the throttle cable a little? My question is even with this new transmission, is it going to die again in 100,000 miles like my old one did? Should I sell this thing and get a Toyota?
Thanks for all input!

Re: What should I do?
The automatic transmissions on 2001 - 2005 civs are known to be problematic..in fact VERY problematic. Hey even on Toyotas, they bloaw alot of throttle posiiton sensors. DO you keep up on regular maintenance.
Re: What should I do?
buying it at 120K not knowing the persons driving habbits could of been a bad choice. Jerking of the transmission inbetween gears is for shore a tranny problem. Its up to you if you want to sell it to some sucker or if you want to keep it and put some money in it and drive it to the ground. If you've already put that much money in get it fixed you'll be happier.
Alot of people wont care about all the extra's you put into a car that value can never usually be retained. Most dealers will degrade the value of the car if the original parts have been changed.
