Re: Stage 1 Cam???

1) There is no such thing as "the turbo motor".

2) There are however, blocks with wandering sleeves, warped heads, wiped mains, blown head gaskets, shredded knuckles, bent conrods, shattered pistons, etc, etc. It will be your turbocharged motor.

All of #2 will happen to you, tomorrow, if you spend money on cam before proper fuel management.

AEM & Kpro are the only real way to go, if you plan to be all gangster and whatnot.

Ive tried the eManage blue; I wanted to kill myself twice. Ive heard AEM's FIC is a better product. As far as im concerned, if the manual has less than 500 errors in it, its better than the eManage.

...after that you will need injectors, big ones.
...then a fuel pump.
...then tires & brakes.

...and i dont have an answer for you honestly, b/w the stage 1 & 2, its a complicated subject. Size of turbo vs valve size vs port size vs intercooler efficiency (oh yea, you need one of those too, and it will suck putting it in).

I think Speedfoos has one them brian crower cams. If you've seen his thread, you know who im talking about.

But if you change the cam w/o modifying the ignition / fuel PWM, who knows what would happen...it'll probably idle like crap, but that sounds so badass.
Expecially if you get the even and odd exhaust primaries just a tad out of phase from optimum...thats why the wrxSTI's sound the way they do (well, a contributing factor anyway).

No cam. Get a Kpro

Re: Stage 1 Cam???

Stage 1 has stock idle and not as aggressive as a stage 2, it should be fine with turbo but the stock cam is fine with turbo. As a general rule of thumb turbos like short duration and n/a motors like long duration. Look at the specs of the stage 1. The higher lift should def be a plus with the stage 1 though.

Re: Stage 1 Cam???

crower considers their stg 1 cam a turbo/na application, stg 2 and up are where they start to marekt differently.

Again, no need for your explaination

All of #2 will happen to you, tomorrow, if you spend money on cam before proper fuel management.

AEM & Kpro are the only real way to go, if you plan to be all gangster and whatnot.

For a stage 1, you will not need any EMS. It has stock idle and just lifts slightly longer than the stock cam. The stock ECU runs lean as hell anyways

Ive tried the eManage blue; I wanted to kill myself twice. Ive heard AEM's FIC is a better product. As far as im concerned, if the manual has less than 500 errors in it, its better than the eManage.

eManage actually is a decent piggyback on almost every car, except for our EM2's.

No bigger injectors are needed if you run the stage 1 cam. you can run stock injectors. No fuel pump needed either. As for tires and brakes, you wont need them. Youll be making around 10-15whp with supporting bolt ons with the cam so no need to upgrade your brakes or tires

...and i dont have an answer for you honestly, b/w the stage 1 & 2, its a complicated subject. Size of turbo vs valve size vs port size vs intercooler efficiency (oh yea, you need one of those too, and it will suck putting it in).

What the hell are you talking about? Stop talking out of your ***. What you just said isnt english.

Again, stop talking out of your ***. a stage 1 would idle fine with the stock ecu and stock map. the reason wrx's sound the way they do is because they have boxer engine. again, stop talking out of your ***

No cam. Get a Kpro

It feels pretty good to just shout whatever everyone says doesnt it, even when it isnt valid to the OP's topic
Get the stage 1 for a light N/A build. If your boosting, go straight for a stage 3 turbo cam. The secret to getting any power out of these motors is the head and cams. Of course a good EMS is also a given but thats with ALL types of motors.
