Is it possible?
Hey y'all. Jus wonderin if it is possible to actually add the power window auto up/down onto our cars that ONLY have the power window auto down??? I been really curious about this and I really wanna get this option on my car. My car is a 2001 Acura EL which is the same as the EX. Has it been done and is it possible? If so what do I need?
Re: Is it possible?

See thats where it gets complicated. Nobody knows for sure if THATS all you need. Might need to rewire things and what not but thats the mystery part of things. Time to get technicial

Re: Is it possible?
You'd have to rig something up. The auto up is a safety issue, which is why they aren't standard. I'm surprised the Mazda's have them.
People get their necks and fingers caught because they are hanging out the window or something and accidentally hit the auto up button.
It's a bigger thing when you think about kids and the possability that they may stand on the door arm area to look out of the window and actually press the buttons with their feet. Neck gets caught, feet slip, you get the picture.
The standing thing was the reason they started making switches the way they do on our cars where you have to actually pull up on them.

Re: Is it possible?
The switch simply sends a signal, the processing for the option would be done by some circuit board or in the harness. So you'd need the processor with it as well, wherever that's located.
Re: Is it possible?
I have it on my 01 LX. I put a Viper 791 Alarm Remote Start on my car then added on different things. I added a DEI 530T Window Automation Module and I'm able to raise and lower my windows from my keypad. This unit also gives you auto up and down on both switches and windows. The 530T works with any aftermarket keyless entry, alarm, or remote starter that has at least one auxillary output. If you're pretty good with wiring, then it's very easy to do.
