New to the club, HELLO everybody

Hi all,

Name's Vee and I just joined today. Nice to meet y'all (with a Texas twang). I'm currently in Thailand but I was in Texas for about 5 years or so.

Got myself an 05 Civic EX sedan about 6 months ago, done a few things to it (see pics below). I'm still new to the Honda scene cuz I had a 96 Mustang GT in Texas and that's a whole lotta different beast, big torque, but big weight too.

In Thailand, the top model for the 05 Civic (my car) comes with a K20A3 engine (same as in EP3), not the 220 hp K20A2.

Please help rate my progress so far, I haven't touched the suspension or the engine yet, waiting for the warranty to expire (April 08). I know the sub at the back is weighing down the suspension, so the suspension will be the first thing that I'll do when the warranty runs out.

Thanks everybody.

Vee

Basic Specs (see more according to pix)
- Painted Red Valve cover
- 2" stainless steel pipe cat back
- Spoon N1 stainless muffler (copy)
- SSR (copy Rota P45R) 18" x 8" ET +45
- Yokohama 225/35/R18
- HID Super Blue 2 pairs
- Acrylic sub enclosure

The valve is only painted, not K20A2

Yokohama S-Drive 225/35/18

Re: New to the club, HELLO everybody

Its possible, but most asian markets have a K20 civic on top of the model chain, so it likely is OEM.

The problem with cars in Thailand is that the top models are always automatic transmission. I can get the manual only in D17A version (probably loads of fun though). So with an automatic, I checked around and was told that a 2.5" exhaust would be too big and leave the bottom end of the tach with absolutely no power. With the kind of traffic congestion here, a bit of low end is kinda important. Anyway, the 2" does really come to life after 4000 or so.....

The top models in Thailand comes with a K20A3 and are automatics only. Currently this same engine (with minor tweaks) is used in the Civic 06+. We don't get the Civic SI (Type R) here officially due to some stupid tax thing. I'll try to get more pix of the sub when my camera is fixed.

Thanks everybody for your compliments.

Yeah, but there're crap when paired with 18" rims. Had to upgrade my pads and surface the rotors. Hopefully brake upgrade soon too, but......................

sweet ride, how much more expensive are parts in thailand compared to the U.S.?
(continued from above)................things are freaking expensive (when compared to salary) especially good authentic stuff. Copied stuff are plentiful, my Spoon N1 exhaust and Rota P45R rims are both imitations. Spoon N1 + 2" stainless cat back = $330, SSR (Rota P45R) = $710.

wow thats really nice. how did you do all those mods? like the orange in the headlight and tails.
The taillights and the fender lights have a sticker on them, similar to the stuff used for the window tint, just in different colors (see pix below).

The headlights are blacked out inside along with orange paint in the corner. There's a guy that does that in BKK for $25. The lens need to be taken apart into three pieces (the plastic on the outside, the middle part separating the bulb section, and the reflective glass at the back.) After completion, silicon and heat is used to put in back together. No issues with water getting inside.

Light Stickers

Blacked out lights and orange corners

Not too shabby. If I had all that blue on the outside of my car the police around here would crap 3 perfect bricks in different combinations of 8 colors.
