Civic Pricing? Need Help

This is my first post after much looking at all of the nice 7th gen sedans. I am considering buying a black 2004 EX sedan auto with 81K for 9995 (asking price). The car is clean and is by far the best deal I have seen. If I can buy the car for 9K would it be worth it? I have done a Carfax already and it was a 1 owner car, no probs either.

Is there anything I need to know about these years?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Civic Pricing? Need Help

Oh yeah...to give you a perspective, I was just recently in the car shopping game myself. I went to a Honda dealership in El Monte, California and saw this 2004 black civic lx sedan auto with 70k miles. The sticker price was 13k and the dealership was willing to go down to around 8k out the door (including tax and license). This was also an authorized Honda dealership (Spirit Honda was the name). I didn't take the deal because I really wanted a coupe. I just recently bought a 2005 Honda Civic EX Coupe silver with 47,000 for 9,500. You just have to wait for the right time haha

I dunno, I will keep looking but I have already been looking for about 3 months and really need a car. How much would you think the car is worth?

I'll fly anyone out here to Cleveland and give them the gas money to drive back if they buy my car for asking price.

Re: Civic Pricing? Need Help

let me start off by saying carfax is BULLSHIT. i will never in my life buy a car using carfax again. here are some flaws that when a car is crashed and they replace the parts this is what the put...as for the front of the car take a really good look at it.. if it has black engine mounts, front lights that do not say honda, p/s pump pully has to be gold to be original, vin in the windshield has to be clearly visible( not you have to look at it from an angle to see it..), front bumper is 2 colors not 1( bottom grill is black not same color as car), winshield washer nozzles are suppose to be black not painted, front frame(where the headlights and everything bolts up) look under it.. its not suppose to be black if it is it got rewelded on..., make sure every single panel on the car is suppose to be aligned right( if its too far out its crashed and was replaced)for example on the front of the car there are 4 parts (bumper, hood, both side panels) they all have to align up perfectly or its not original.. if there is a dent under the hood on the right side right under where the shock bolts up on the wheelwell..CRASHED.. um there is alot more ways to tell if it has been crashed but here are some... and i will repeat DO NOT TRUST CARFAX.. as for the back of the car... i dont even want to go there.. i should definately post this for new car buyers.. lol IF YOU HAVE FLAWS LIKE THESE...SORRY BUT YOUR CAR WAS CRASHED..

Bottom grill should ALWAYS be black.

My 02 coupe costed 6.9K with 40000 miles. Excellent deal for my area, where the average civic price hovers around 10k for under 60k miles
