Re: energy motor mounts??

No need to write a DIY on it, it's a pretty easy mod.

Remove front mount, install ES bushing inserts (There are like 3 bolts), re-install mount.

Unbolt rear mount - paying careful attention to how you have to turn the mount to get it out. I didn't and spent the better part of an hour trying to get the damn thing back in there in the correct position. I also suck at Rubic's cubes and puzzles.

The thing with the rear mount inserts is that you may have to trim some of the poly off to get them to fit properly. I know I did. Just use a box cutter with a new blade and you'll be fun. It's a really easy mod though, which is why there is no DIY.

Re: energy motor mounts??

so it would be better if i installed the rear ones?? just in your opinion lol??? but yes the diy did help but i have a 2005 and i had an extra bolt. i was trying to wiggle it a little and no budge. so i looked underneath and there was another bolt. but other then that yes it was a very helpful diy for the front ones. havent tried the rear ones.

Re: energy motor mounts??

IMO the front one is the most important because the front stock mount on the 7thgen's has a tendency to rip apart. Most stealerships tend to have a couple on stock at all times since they break so much. but with the es front mount in it stops the rubber from ripping in the stock mounts.

The rear mount is a pain to put in though. do what foos said grab a blade and shave it down.

Some one should probably send ES a note telling them that they need to recast there rear mounts

Re: energy motor mounts??

i cant get to the rear ones. the cat gets in the way of one of the first 2 bolts.. the ones that you say need to be breaker bared.... so yeah and for the other 3 bolts. mine goes the other way. your third bolt goes left mine goes right and i cant even get in there to do it. so i might not even try. so i think i might just stick with the front ones..

Re: energy motor mounts??

Just unhook the front rubber hanger for the cat you should then be able to push it enough out of the way to get to the bolt if you still can't get it. Get a 12mm socket with an extension and take off the two spring bolts that hold the header to the cat then you can move the cat like 3 feet to the side lol
