Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
Hello everyone,
I just wrote off an 02' Alero (such a crappy car) and now am searching for another car, and have my eye's set on a 03' Civic LX-G.
I spent some time looking over the forum about problems, among other things and it look like these cars are solid.
I'm living in Canada, and have found a nice looking 4 door civic, again 2003 with less then 60,000KM on it. has power everything and is standard. A friend took me out and showed me the ropes on driving standard in his Integra, I thought it was fun. I took the car for a test drive, but didn't really find the power, I realize the engine is smaller, but with time would I find the power band and maybe get a little more power out of it? or should I keep searching for an SI?

Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
an ex has VTEC, although its only VTEC-E, so it has 127 HP, versus the LX 115. So it has more power. But with bolt on mods, dont expect a lot more power. with basic bolt ons, you prolly wont pass 140 hp. but it is fun to drive =D
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
Well 127HP is a little better then 115, what would I have to do to bring this type of engine to about the same performance as an Integra (140HP) engine?
I found a few Ex's in my price range

Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
well you could go for full intake, headers, exhaust, and maybe new spark plugs? that may get you like 10 hp. so 137. 140 if your lucky. But you wont get much more than that, and that all costs like $800
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
meh.. ull never feel any of that power.. there really isnt too much of a performance difference between the two motors.. that 115 and 127 hp are both at the crank.. and at rpms you wont usually drive at.. so actually both motors are pushing a good 95-105 hp at the wheels.. dont look at numbers so much, with our motors they wont make a difference when comparing the two
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
meh..maybe.. highly doubt it though..
even though i drive an auto.. i get literally EATEN by ls integras.. with only exhausts..
i doubt theres a way you eat them lol.. unless they cant drive for ****

Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
i bet he eats teggies for lunch all day long, with them in reverse, and him in first, then second, then third, then he finally passes the teggie in reverse
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
yea maybe il take several vids next time n show you how to drive.^^^..and i drive manual not an automatic... which manual is alot faster... and if all you do have manual you cant drive for ****
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
well maybe i should specify "eating" .....on the highway they pull me a lil bit in there third gear but once i shift to fourth im gone... same **** happens every time...
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
let me tell u something punk, i have an es1 and an em2, both manual, and my fiance could outshift u, second, most integra owners arent going to street race a d17, we are slow, if u think any different, u are slow, and i dont mean as a driver, gtfo newb
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
oh, did i forget to mention, I DONT STREET RACE, one its dangerous, two, its illegal, three, i have a drag strip 10 minutes from my house, i keep it legal, and safe, i dont have to prove how big my dick is, or have a pissing contest with a punk 17 year old, grow up, stop street racing, and take it to the track, then post up some numbers, with vids, and someone here might believe u, but everyone here has the same cars, soooo, ur on the losing side of this argument, so log off, and forget ur password, because noone here cares a lick about u or ur "super fast" car
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
i never said my car was "super fast" but ok... yea an intergra would prolly beat me on a track cuz i wouldnt get to 4th gear... you wouldnt know about racing on the highway cuz you said "I DONT STREET RACE"... but i really dont care about your opinion... wen i get a vid il be sure to post it
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
let me re-clarify, i almost died street racing, literally, along with my fiance, so i used to street race, and 4th gear is hitting almost 100 mph, my 3rd gear runs out at about 85 mph, so if ur hitting 4th gear on the street then ur dumber than i though, grow up, a real race will NEVER happen on the street, with traffic or street lights, drop with the thread jack, and get back on the o/t or get out
Re: Thinking about a 7th gen civic..
thanks for havin my back, i didnt mean to thread jack, i hate it, but these friggin newbs just get me goin so quickly
