New Member: My Civic and Other Info

Hey everyone, just joined the forums a few minutes ago (hope I'm posting in the right place - let me know if I'm not). I've actually browsed through the forums many times in the past, but just decided to join. I have a basically bone stock 2001 LX Coupe auto (sometimes wish it were a stick) in Rallye Red. It's got 85,000 miles on the odometer, and I focus more on trying to keep it looking from-the-factory new rather than putting on several modifications. I've thought about adding forced induction and new shocks/springs, but would rather shell out the $$$ on a Valentine One.

Put simply, my car is my baby and I have pre-set rules for anyone about to get in. I treat it like a piece of rare artwork or something, which people sometimes rag on me about. But I take pleasure in knowing my Civic is in pristine working order. I've never eaten in the car, no one's ever smoked in it, and the carpets and carpet mats have always been sheltered by rubber mats so I have not a single stain on the carpets. I run Mobil 1 full synthetic in the 1.7 liter and always fill up with Chevron. I've always been impressed with the way my Civic rides and handles and the way it can comfortably cruise at 100+.

The major tarnished spot on my car is its wreck back when it had only 1,800 miles on it. An old man turned left into me as I was trying to go straight when I was headed home one day during high school. Nearly 3 months and $7,000 later, my Civic was fixed and I've had few problems since. I had the rear control arm bushings replaced at about 40,000 miles due to squeaks back there and a front wheel bearing replaced my mechanic said was probably due to the wreck. And of course, I've always enjoyed that characteristic Honda sound the engine makes under heavy acceleration.

Here's some pics:

(The only way most people saw my Civic when I parked outside while I was at Auburn.)

I'm looking forward to spending some time on these forums talking with other Civic owners and enthusiasts. Hopefully I can get some ideas about what to do to mine.
