Exclamation Install price at the dealer

Hey guys, this is my first post here even though i have been looking around this forum for a while.

So I got a 02 lx sedan and just purchased some 04 oem tails of ebay and trying to install them. I am one of those people that takes stuff apart and then cant assemble it back together, so I dont want to install them by myself knowing that I have to take off the back bumber. So I was thinking to take the car to a local dealer and ask them to install the tails for me and I was wondering how much would that kind of job cost? I got a little lucky and the seller send me the sockets as well and after checking them today they fit into the plugs of my car...so it should be plug and play with the wiring.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Install price at the dealer

do it yourself, i did mine in like 30 mins, but u do have to remove the bumper, and its plug and play, so u really cant screw it up, its a couple screws and some pop clips, save the 140 theyll prolly charge cuz its like 70 an hour, and they will charge u for 2 hours

I live by kendall area, but I am not a chick and I am willing to pay you some cash if you can help me out. I just dont want to do it myself cause i got 0 experience with that kind of stuff.

I might go to the dealer today and talk to one of the guys that I know and see if they can do a job on the side. But if they name a rediculous price I would deffenatly turn to a fellow forum member.

Re: Install price at the dealer

Man dont be a poon! lol no offence, but how are you going to learn if you dont get your hands dirty and do it..the rear bumper is all clips and easy to remove pieces. just make sure you have something soft to lay the bumper on after you remove it and plan on taking a couple of hours to work your way through it. Believe me it is very rewarding to instal your own parts...I say do everything yourself that isn't mechanical (ie Engine, brakes)

ps I would like some pics and a site to get some 8th gen tails that fit onto 7th gens

I would really like to go to the meet if it was closer to Miami but I cant make it and plus it's gonna be like 50 bux in gas that I can pay to somebody down here to do the job for me. If you know anybody down here who can help me out, hit me up.

As I said in the first post I need somebody to do it for me(or help me) because I aint gonna do it alone and mess everthing up. I dont know how u define learing but I would prefer learing from somebody who actually knows and not on my own. Hopefully I'll find a felow member on here who's willing to help out.

There is no such thing! I am putting 04 sedan tails into my 02 sedan.

Re: Install price at the dealer

You won't mess anything up. To take the bumper off, there are like 4 (maybe 6) screws. 2 covered by little plastic caps that you can only see when you raise the trunk and another 1 (maybe two) in each wheel well. Once you remove those, double check the wheel well to make sure you don't miss any. Then you just pull the plastic bumper cover off. Just grab it near the rear wheel and pull it towards you. It will pop out of the little plastic thing holding it in. Do the same on the other side, and then pull the whole thing off from the rear. Its very easy and you shouldn't encounter any problems when you do this. Don't pay the dealership a red cent.

Must suck having a sedan. You don't have to drop the bump to change the tails on a coupe.

Here's the graphic of the bumpers from Majestic. You can see there are only screw is the back and the wheel well.
