Saying Bye,Bye to 8th gen Civic Forum

Hey guys i traded the 8th gen Civic for a 2012 VW TDI diesel 6 speed manual, sunroof, Leather interior, and much more goodies, since i have a lengthy commute to work everyday Diesel was a much better choice. great fuel mileage so far any ways adios amigos.

Re: Saying Bye,Bye to 8th gen Civic Forum

Maintenence items like Air filter, oil filter engine oil yes are a little more but not a hole lot more on a TDI like i bought 5 Liters of 5w30 castrol edge Proffesional yesterday at VW dealer for $50.00 before tax. oil filter cartridge was $17.40 so its not terrible to maintaine compared to some higher end european vehicles. i filled my tank up using shells v-power Diesel and the fuel economy just keeps getting better and better.!! im lovin the fuel mileage! rides better than the Civic as well over bumps and alot more comfortable seating as well. civic was getting up in mileage 237.000km"s so i figured better to trade it now and get more $ than to waite till its got 3-400.000 and get nothing. overall very happy with my Jetta TDI and its the Black extereir coloure i wanted. some day i will post some picks of here. - You cant beat a TDI"s Fuel Economy.

5w30 Pennzoil Euro does not meet VW TDI 507.00 spec Oil to use in my engine. this vehicle was dealer maintaned using there ( castrol edge Professional 5w30 ) i could use "Quartz ineo" or "liquid moly" or mobile 1 esp, as long as it meets VW 507.00 spec to use in the engine its safe to use. using any other diesel oil that dont meet the important 507.00 spec for this engine your asking for trouble. $50.00 at the dealer for Castrol edge Professional is cheaper than using any of those other ones.
bye bye civic hello TDI.! lol

Congrats and enjoy the Euro life, it's and interesting one

If I had a long commute I would consider a TDI. You can pick them up for so cheap because of Diesel Gate.
