Replace 08 Civic water pump just for sake of it?
Replace 08 Civic water pump just for sake of it?
I have a 2008 Civic EX with 182k miles
Honda dealer recommended a water pump package every 120k for $549, their price went down since the last time they recommended it.
I don't really have any issues with it though, no leaks of course. They kinda scared me into thinking if I don't get it done sooner rather than later it might cause serious damage to my car. Unsure if I should proceed.
They recommended a coolant flush (something I've NEVER had done before) for $100, I figure I'll go ahead and it do for the winter.
Last question, Honda recommended replacing the rear struts/shocks, which we DIY'ed. We found one had, I guess oil all over it, sorta like it ruptured.
My dad DIY'ed the rear struts/shocks, rotors, and wheel hubs. but I'm guessing something is off since now it makes noises in the rear whenever I brake at low speeds. When he was removing either the rotor or wheel hub he had to use a drill to make it come off.
I'm pretty sure I saw on the replacement parts, an image warning against a drill and instead suggesting another tool(which I didn't recognize and forgot the name of).
I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you.
