Re: How many miles are You expecting out of Your well maintained Civic..?

Well my wife and I are separating, she is taking the '06 and I'm getting the 2014, but I was/am fully prepared to put a new engine and transmission into my civic before letting it go.
Probably would only let it go if I were forced to, such as an accident or flood or something.

Probably expecting (assuming my soon to be ex-wife takes the same mentality) 350,000 to 700,000 miles out of the '06.
Who knows, maybe even 1,000,000? Although by the time it got there it would probably be falling to pieces (assuming it doesn't get sold before then)

My 2014 I'll probably try for 500,000 miles, and hope for 1,000,000
Again, fully willing/ready to replace the engine AND transmission before letting it go.

If I keep mine long enough, it would probably rot away and look like Swiss Cheese long before I could wear it out.

not sure about 1,000,000 miles...? but 500,000 can be achieved with good maintenance I probably treat mine with over kill when it comes
to maintenance things like oil & filters change intervals etc... but that's
expected if you want to achieve high mileage on these cars

^It didn't roll over to all zeros! It stuck at 999,999km! WOW I didn't expect that.

Also, did you see all the warning lights on and hear all the suspension clunks? LOL

Re: How many miles are You expecting out of Your well maintained Civic..?

Yeah, guy is some kind of delivery driver.
In one of the comments he said that the airbag light is on because he removed the passenger seat to have more cargo space!

He went on to say that he actually had to buy a new odometer, as he needs to report his mileage for taxes.
And the engine light is for emissions.

i think the answer depends on how many kilos you put on annually

if you drive 80,000-100,000 kilos a year then i would say 500,000 is easily done.....if your only doing 25,000 a year then no way,

i think time/years is a bigger factor then mileage, especially being in canada with winter snow and salt, your body and frame is more likely to rot away before major mechanical issues
