Taillight removal help

Im trying to get my taillights off so i can smoke them and i know you have to pull the rear bumper off a little bit to screw the taillights off but i have this problem. Theres a long piece of rubber running down the side of my car above the rear tires. Its stuck halfway on the bumper and the upper half of my car. Think its for guarding your car from nicks and bumps. I was wondering if i have remove that in order to remove the bumper. I dont want to ruin the rubber guard or anything.

Re: Taillight removal help

try and gently pull it off. i believe its just pressed on like the door guards. or if you have a mini ratchet you might be able to stick your hand way up the bumper and undo the bolts of the bracket without taking the bumper off.
