Grip -- Fresh Tires

i recently purchased an 09 civic, and im honestly not in love with the stock rims and tires AT ALL so i figured i'd start there....

i'm interested in getting tires that increase my handling and i've started doing research and so far i'm lookin at Kumho Ecsta ASX's.

so my question is...
Do you guys know any good recommended tires to help handling? (without overkill on price)

i'm planning on using for a summer application, but an all-season tire wouldnt hurt...

im in chicago and we get tons of snow so ill prob stick to stock rims and tires in the winter but yea, any suggestions would be nice...

edit: and has anyone had experience on the civic with these tires?

thanks in advance...

Re: Grip -- Fresh Tires

Is handling your main concern or would prefer a tire that has a smooth quiet ride over extreme performance? Also what size rim are you planning on running?

Re: Grip -- Fresh Tires

yeah handling is my main concern. as far as size go's, i was thinking about going with the SI's rim and tire specs(17's) for size, but if the rim is over 19 lbs, i'll stay with the 16's.

ive heard having the side wall stiff helps a lot with handling, which makes sense, but idk if the SI tire specs are low-profile. (im assuming they are) If so, would it be better to go with low-profiles for the rigid-ness?

edit: if not the SI rims, i'd LOVE to get the HFP rims
